Engr. Nuruddeen Abdurrahman Rafindadi
Engr. Nuruddeen Abdurrahman Rafindadi, FNSE, FAEng, FNAHS, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), is a Civil Engineer by profession.
Born in March 1960, he graduated with a B.Eng Civil Engineering in 1981, and MSc in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering in 1986, both from ABU Zaria.
Three decades in civil engineering projects – design and supervision of projects; projects control; contracts administration; projects feasibility; financing; monitoring and evaluation; management of donor funded (AfDB, World Bank) programmed and projects.
Policy, legal and institutional issues of infrastructure development: reform of infrastructure (telecom, power, roads) sectors in Nigeria; Government committee assignments: on the review of organization and operations of the River Basin Development Authorities – (2015); Governing Board, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (2009 – 2011); Committee on Nigerian Roads Sector Reform (2012).
Consulting engineering: Founding partner of Afri-Projects Consortium (founded 1990) – a Nigerian multi-disciplinary consulting firm. National projects management consultants to Nigeria’s Petroleum (Special) Trust Fund (1995–1999.
In 2006–2010, Lead National Consultant for the monitoring and evaluation of projects and programmes funded from Nigeria’s debt relief gains to achieve the MDGs.
Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE); Distinguished Fellow of the Academy of Engineering (FAEng.); Council member of COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, 2013-2016); Chairman of the Board, NSE Publications (2002–2008); President of the Association for Consulting Engineering in Nigeria (2012, 2013). ACEN is a member association of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC).
He has sat on the Governing Boards of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).From 2017: Managing Director / Chief Executive of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency FERMA, management of the maintenance of Nigeria’s federal roads network.
